Chosen Race - the race set apart by God - given a special place in the history of God inside human time and human tradition, inside human history and human value. "God was invented by the Jews" as someone once said! The history of God inside human history is very much down to the Jews. The Nazis sought to extricate that God from human time and human experience - a new 'human apotheosis' was sought: it was to be Aryan, and it would supplant the Jews.
Selected Race - a race shown the door to history and human existence - and with it through that exit door (as the Nazis saw it) God too would exit! As indeed the history of the Jews is very much the history of God inside human existence, God was to be set outside human history - and in the vacuum created, a new 'apotheosis' (with echoes and reverberations of the Nietszchean idea Man as Superman) the Fuhrer would arise, and so begin a new Millenium of Nazi/Aryan/German glory.
In the space 'evacuated' by the Chosen Race, a new incumbent - an 'apotheosis' of all things German - posited as the Aryans.
In the place of God - the new 'apotheosis' of the Fuhrer.
The Jews were a means to an end - God was to be revised out of history, and the extinguishment of the Jews was meant to bring this about, allowing the Nazi Fuhrer "simply to take his place" by the process of Selection.
The Holocaust was a "re-apotheosis" - The Chosen Race, set apart inside history, were to become the Selected Race, to be set apart outside human history, and they (and God) to be left behind by it.
The "New Apotheosis" was to be a Fuhrer with his chosen ones, the Aryans, to consolidate and to further his place inside human history. Such was the Millenial project of the Nazis...whither it now?
Is it too much to posit that such a simple modulation in language holds the key to all the Nazi attempt against the lives, traditions, history and existence of the Jewish Nation?
